“Every one of us has that ability to take action in a moment that seems difficult, whether it’s within you or with other people.”In this Satsang, Swami Radhananda speaks about how daily spiritual practice helps to build a foundation of awareness that we can apply to our daily interactions. This supports us when we are faced with difficult events, which can take us by surprise even in the most peaceful moments.

Spring Light
March 5, 2010 by Sandra Hindson, Category: News & Events
As we move out of the dark days of winter into the growing light of spring, the air is filled with a promise for new growth. The Yoga Development Course is now in its 8th week and participants are deeply involved in this incredible journey of self-discovery. Participants joined the Ashram community for a day of Karma Yoga with a focus on the Divine Mother prayer from the Ananda Lahari (Wave of Bliss) as a reminder of Her presence. As the last several weeks have demonstrated life is a wave that ebbs and flows and the only constant is change- like the seasons. (Watch a slide show of this incredible day.)

The path towards higher awareness is no different than being successful in business or athletics, where developing a thorough understanding of one’s direction and stamina is essential.

Leap of Faith
February 24, 2010 by Faith, Category: Reflection & Articles
During a recent visit to the Ashram early this year, Faith Stuart, a seasoned warrior on the spiritual path was interviewed by our former Lightwaves editor, Claire Gilmour. Claire was interested in how Faith has applied the teachings to her life as a mother, wife and teacher in Calgary. With a desire to write her story, Faith translated that interview into this article, which was then polished into a recent Satsang talk in the Temple of Divine Light. Faith’s courage to speak about a personal family tragedy and the gratitude she has for the support she received from Swami Radha’s teachings resonated in the hearts of those present. Stay tuned for part two…
